Is ProGain free?
Yes, ProGain is free to download. The free version includes 5 AI food scans. Upgrade to ProGain Pro for unlimited scans and access to all features.
What does ProGain Pro include?
ProGain Pro gives you unlimited AI food scans, full access to all statistics features, and complete Apple Health integration. Weekly, monthly, and annual subscription options are available.
Which devices are supported?
ProGain works on iPhone devices running iOS 14 or later.
AI Scanning
How does AI scanning work?
When you take a photo of your meal, the image is securely sent to our servers and analyzed by Google Gemini AI. The food name, portion size, protein, and calorie content are estimated. Results typically arrive within a few seconds.
How accurate are the results?
The AI achieves high accuracy for well-known foods. A confidence score (0–100%) is shown with every result. If the score is below 50%, manual correction is recommended. You can edit the portion size and protein value directly on the result screen.
Are my photos stored?
No. Photos are transmitted to our servers only for analysis and are deleted immediately after processing is complete. Your saved photos on device are never accessed.
Subscription
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions and cancel the ProGain subscription. You can continue using Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
Can I use my purchase on another device?
Yes. Use Profile → Restore Purchases inside the app to activate your subscription on any device linked to the same Apple ID.
Is there a free trial?
A 7-day free trial is available on the monthly plan and a 3-day free trial on the weekly plan. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
Technical
Will I lose my data?
Data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app will also delete your data, so be mindful before uninstalling. iCloud backup support is planned for a future update.
How does Apple Health integration work?
When you enable Apple Health permission from the Profile page, the protein values from your logged meals are automatically written to Apple Health. You can verify this in the Health app.
